Carter by A.M. Salinger
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
This is the second book in the Twilight Falls series. These are fairly short stories with a hot and heavy romance theme. This series focuses on a group of friends, known as the terrible seven. In the first book, we saw Alex find his 'one' through an arranged marriage. This time we have Carter, an international movies star and Elija, a pastry chef. Carter has a reputation for sleeping with just about every woman he comes across, but what the rest of the world doesn't know is that he is bi. When his sister dies he becomes the sole guardian for his niece. This is the start of a complete life change for Carter and when he meets Elija things change even more.
I liked this story and enjoyed the romance between Carter and Elija. It is a bit instant attraction and things do move very fast, but sometimes that's just what you want and what works.
I wasn't entirely sold on the idea that his career would suffer when he came out as gay, it seemed a bit of a stretch in this day and age, but maybe that's the case, I don't know. Overall I enjoyed it though.
I received a complimentary copy of this book through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
