My Review:

It feels as though this last book has been a long time coming. The last two books weren't that long ago, but it's been quite a while since I started reading this series. I think that the characters and story have grown with the passage of time and perhaps the characters themselves have been on a journey that I (and possibly even the author) wasn't quite expecting. Even so it's been an enjoyable and memorable story.
Jules is a great character and I've enjoyed following her story. From the start where her potential love interests have been quite horrible, they all changed and grew up into something quite different. I've enjoyed this series and I hope that we'll revisit the world again in the future. I don't feel quite the empty, sad it's over feeling that I had at the end of the Shadow Walker series, but I still really enjoyed this one. It was nice to bring everything to a conclusion.
You would really have to read the whole series to get a good grasp of the story, but that doesn't matter as it is a good read.

My Review

I'm really enjoying the Dark Falls Academy series. There was quite a wait between books one and two, but fortunately, this latest instalment came quite quickly. It picks up where our last book left off, Cole has been exiled, and Jules and her friends are trying to work against new headmaster Oz and also to clear Cole's name. To do so, she must work with Flynn, Cole's best friend but someone who has never really been on Jules's side.

This story sees Jules and Flynn travelling away from Dark Falls academy, following Cole into Faerie, somewhere that she has never been before, but has heard plenty about. It's clear that as she does things are going to change and Jules will have to try and come to terms with these changes.

I really enjoyed the developing relationship between Jules and Flynn as well as the growth of the relationship that she has with Cole. I'm not sure where any of these are likely to go next, but I have a few theories.

This book doesn't conclude things, with a cliffhanger at the end which just makes you desperate to read on and find out what will happen next. Sadly, we have to wait a little longer, but with the fourth (and final?) book due out in May, it's not too long.

My Review

I was worried that it had been too long since I read the first book in the Dark Falls Academy, in an ideal world I would have re-read Forbidden Magic but I just didn't have the time right now. It didn't really matter, despite it being over two and a half years since I read book one, it didn't take me long to pick up the plot and remember everything that had been going on and the world that this all happens in.
Book two takes place a year after the first one. Our heroine, Jules, still finds herself drawn to fae prince Cole. Even though he seems to be completely wrong for her and she certainly can't trust him, there's something about Cole that just draws her to him.
I really enjoyed this second instalment in this series. Even better than that, we don't have to wait for too long before the third book is due to be released, which is excellent news. I can't wait to return to the Dark Falls Academy in the not-too-distant future.
